The AI Affinity Scan

Most companies invest in AI tools. Not the people who use them.

The AI Affinity Scan measures the human skills that stay scarce in an AI-driven workplace, person by person, team by team. One 15-minute survey. Results today.

What is the Peak-8 Framework?

The Peak-8 Framework is a research-backed methodology for measuring the eight non-technical, character-driven skills that determine how well a person or team adapts to AI-augmented work. Grounded in VIA Character Strengths research and workplace-readiness studies from McKinsey, BCG, PwC, and Stanford HAI, it groups eight roles — Ethical Navigator, Data Detective, Impact Storyteller, Human Touch Expert, Idea Architect, Agile Adapter, Prompt Engineer, and Digital Conductor — into four categories: Governance & Trust, Human Connection, Innovation & Change, and Operation & Logic.

Each person completes a single 15-minute character survey, which the AI Affinity Scan maps onto all eight roles to produce an individual ranking, from strongest to weakest. No coding tests, no technical benchmarks: the framework measures the human judgment, adaptability, and communication skills that stay scarce as AI takes over routine, technical work.

PwC, 2025

According to BCG (2024), 70% of the value AI creates comes from how people adopt and apply it, not from the technology itself.

According to McKinsey (2024), 70% of AI initiatives fail to deliver expected value, most often due to gaps in human adoption rather than the tools.

Per Stanford HAI's AI Index, expert AI users outperform average users by roughly 5x on real tasks — the gap is skill, not access.

Per PwC (2025), 52% of leaders don't fully trust their AI tools' output, underscoring the need for human judgment in the loop.

This isn't a technology problem.
It's a systems problem.

Buying the right AI tool was never the hard part. The hard part is whether your organization (its structure, its decision rights, its culture) can absorb the change. As AI takes over routine work, the same gap opens on both sides: the human skills that now decide success are invisible, to the organization and to the employee.

1

No view of who's AI-ready

CVs, titles, and reviews don't show affinity for the roles that now matter.

2

Developing on gut feeling

No data on where collective strength, or the blind spots, really sit.

3

Strengths stay invisible

Judgement, empathy, and creativity appear on no résumé or work history.

4

No direction next to AI

Uncertainty and resistance grow without a personal sense of where to grow.

What you see

Every employee receives a single, clear score and a 1–8 ranking of their AI-era roles. Leaders see the collective picture. The ranking shows natural strengths, not a winning profile or a pass/fail score.

Your AI-era compass

Every employee receives

  • A private results webpage with their affinity score and 1–8 role ranking.
  • A plain-language report explaining each role, backed by named research.
  • A personalized audio briefing on their own profile.

Every leader sees

  • An online dashboard with the spread of all 8 roles across teams.
  • A capabilities heatmap across the team, to match people to roles and projects by natural affinity, not a ranked leaderboard.
  • Direction, not headcount judgement: a compass for where to develop people.

How leaders use this data

A heatmap is only useful if it changes a decision. Three ways leaders act on it.

1

Pilot selection

Identify your strongest Agile Adapters to run the first Copilot rollout instead of picking by seniority or who volunteers.

2

Pairing

Team a high-affinity Prompt Engineer with an Ethical Navigator to co-write your AI usage guidelines, pairing technical fluency with risk judgement.

3

Gap-closing

A team that skews heavily toward Idea Architect and light on Prompt Engineer is next quarter's training budget, decided for you.

Questions HR leaders and procurement ask

How can organizations measure AI readiness in non-technical teams?+

Organizations should assess character strengths such as adaptability, ethical judgment, and problem-solving instead of technical or coding ability. The Peak-8 Framework measures exactly these traits through a 15-minute character survey, producing an individual ranking across 8 AI-era roles and an organization-wide dashboard showing where collective strength and gaps sit.

Which skills matter most for working effectively alongside AI?+

As AI takes over routine and technical work, the skills that matter most are judgment, ethical reasoning, adaptability, and clear communication, not coding ability. The Peak-8 Framework identifies eight such roles, grouped into four categories: Governance & Trust, Human Connection, Innovation & Change, and Operation & Logic.

How do you identify AI-ready employees without technical or coding tests?+

The AI Affinity Scan identifies AI-ready employees through a character-based assessment rather than a technical test. Employees complete a single 15-minute survey; the results map their character strengths onto the eight Peak-8 roles and rank them from strongest to weakest, giving leaders a picture of AI readiness without requiring any coding or technical skills assessment.

What is the AI Affinity Scan?+

There's a place for everyone in the AI transition. It's just not the same place for everyone. The AI Affinity Scan is a character-based assessment that maps 8 human roles (the Peak-8 framework), showing where each person's affinity is naturally strongest. It's based on a 15-minute character survey, not coding tests.

How long does it take per employee?+

One 15-minute survey, once. Results, including a personal 1–8 role ranking, are generated instantly. No follow-up testing is required.

What does it cost?+

€49 per person, one-time, with no subscription or platform fee. Available from 100 people per organization. The organization dashboard is included for 1 year. Volume and partner pricing are available for larger rollouts.

Is there a minimum order size?+

Yes, the AI Affinity Scan is available from 100 people per organization, at €49 per person. There's no per-seat licensing or platform fee beyond that flat rate.

What do leaders see, and what do employees see?+

Each employee gets a private results webpage with their full profile. Leaders get an organization dashboard with the spread of all 8 roles across teams and a capabilities heatmap to match people to roles and projects, not a ranked leaderboard. There is no pass/fail: the scan is a development instrument, not an assessment gate.

How is our data handled?+

Personal data is processed in line with GDPR and all survey responses and results are hosted on servers in the European Union. A Data Processing Agreement is available for corporate clients.

Which languages is it available in?+

The survey and the personal results experience are currently available in English.

Can it connect to our existing systems?+

Yes. An API connection is available for organizations that want to sync results into an HRIS, BI tool, or internal dashboard, in addition to the standard webpage and reports.

How fast can we start?+

Today. Add your organization's first 100+ email addresses and we send the invites. No IT integration, no software to install. Each person gets their profile the moment they finish, and the leadership dashboard fills in as results come in, typically within a week.

The eight roles that stay human

There's a place for everyone in the AI transition. It's just not the same place for everyone. Researchers converge on eight capabilities that remain decisive as AI scales, and the scan profiles each person's affinity for all eight roles below. There is no winning profile, only where your strengths naturally sit.

Governance & Trust

Ethical Navigator

01

Owns the judgement calls AI can't answer for. AI recommends; humans are accountable.

In practice: decides whether to actually act on an AI recommendation to cut a costly but loyal vendor, and owns that call publicly.

Governance & Trust

Data Detective

02

Knows when to trust AI output, and when not. Intellectual humility as a skill.

In practice: stress-tests an AI-generated market analysis against what it contradicts, before it reaches the board deck.

Human Connection

Impact Storyteller

03

Turns data and ideas into a story people act on. AI writes documents; humans create buy-in.

In practice: rewrites the AI-drafted reorg memo so the floor believes it, instead of quitting over it.

Human Connection

Human Touch Expert

04

Builds trust and adds empathy AI cannot. Understands how AI output lands in a human context.

In practice: catches the one line in an AI-drafted client email that would land as tone-deaf in this specific relationship.

Innovation & Change

Idea Architect

05

Thinks beyond existing data, drives new ideas. Ten AI tools analyze the same problem; the human spots the pattern.

In practice: instead of using ChatGPT to draft emails, builds the custom GPT that fuses proprietary data with market trends into new product ideas.

Innovation & Change

Agile Adapter

06

Thrives in change, retools when tools shift. Adaptability by nature, not by training.

In practice: first to drop last quarter's "best" AI tool once a better one ships, and retrains the team on it within a week.
